Pork and apple cheeseburgers
Apple gives a subtle, sweet flavour to these burgers
Serves 4
Ready in 25 minutes
Ingredients
  • 500g pork mince
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 eating apples, cored and grated and tossed in 1tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 medium egg, beaten
  • 50g fresh breadcrumbs
  • 50g cheese, such as Maasdam, Edam or Gruyère, sliced
  • Burger buns, salad leaves, sliced tomatoes, Asda hamburger and sweetcorn relishes or tomato chutney, to serve
Method
1 Use your hands to combine the mince, onion, apples, egg and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper, then shape into four patties.

2 Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning once. Put the cheese on top of the burgers and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until cheese has melted.

3 Serve with buns, salad, tomatoes and relishes.
