Ingredients
- 225g strong plain flour
- 450g malted Granary flour
- 2 x 7g sachets Asda fast-action dried yeast
- 175g Asda walnuts, roughly chopped
- 100g dried apricots, chopped
- 2tbsp Asda walnut oil
- 2tbsp clear honey
Method
1 Mix together the plain and Granary flour in a large bowl. Add 2 teaspoons of salt, along with the yeast, chopped walnuts and apricots. Stir in 425ml of warm water, add walnut oil and honey, then mix into a soft dough.
2 Knead the dough for 10 minutes on a lightly floured board. Shape into a ball and place in an oiled bowl. Cover with clingfilm and leave in a warm place to rise for about an hour, until doubled in size.
3 Pre-heat the oven to 22OC/Gas 7. Remove the dough from the bowl and cut in half. Shape into two round loaves and place on a flowered baking sheet. Make small cuts into the surface of the dough. Cover with oiled clingfilm and leave in a warm place to rise for another 30 minutes.
4 Remove the clingfilm and bake for 10 minutes, Reduce the oven temperature to 190c/Gas 5 and bake sfor another, until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
