Creamy fish pie
Everyone will love this warming, comforting dish

Ingredients
  • 150g broccoli, cut in small florets
  • 200g Asda cod fillet
  • 200g Asda smoked cod fillet
  • 250g Asda salmon fillet
  • 425ml full-fat milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • half a small onion
  • 75g butter
  • 40g plain flour
  • 2tbsp fresh Asda parsley, chopped
  • 700g potatoes, cut into even pieces
  • 4tbsp Asda crème fraîche
  • 50g Asda Mature Cheddar, grated

Method
1 Preheat the oven to 190C/Gas 5. Boil the broccoli for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water and set aside. Put the fish, milk, bay leaf and onion in a large pan, then partially cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

2 Skin and bone the fish, divide into chunks and scatter in an ovenproof dish, along with the broccoli. Remove the bay leaf and onion, then measure out 425ml of the cooking milk, discarding any of the excess liquid.

3 Melt 50g butter, remove from heat and add flour. Stir over a low heat, add milk and simmer for 2 minutes, whisking all the time. Add the chopped parsley, season and pour over the fish.

4 Boil the potatoes for about 15 minutes or until cooked, then drain. Mash with the leftover butter and crème fraîche, spoon over the fish mixture and spread evenly, ensuring that the fish is covered completely. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 40 minutes.
