Spaghetti carbonara
All the family will love this creamy pasta with smoky bacon
Serves 4
Ready in 20 minutes
Ingredients
  • 450g Asda spaghetti
  • 2tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 150g Asda Extra Special Dry Cured Streaky Bacon, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 142ml pot double cream
  • 50g grated Parmesan cheese, with extra to serve
  • Flat-leaf parsley leaves, to garnish

Method
1 Cook spaghetti according to pack instructions. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a pan and add the onion and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes until they start to soften.

2 Add the bacon and cook, stirring occasionally, for a further 5 minutes until the bacon turns golden.

3 Place the eggs in a bowl and beat gently with a fork. Beat in the cream and Parmesan, and season with black pepper.

4 Drain the pasta and return to the pan. Add the egg mixture, onions, garlic and bacon. Cook over a gentle heat, tossing gently for 1 minute. Serve immediately, with a sprinkling of black pepper, parsley and the extra Parmesan.
