Ingredients
- 680g frozen shortcrust pastry, thawed
- 6 Asda Extra Special pork and apple sausages
- 4 rashers smoked, streaky bacon
- 3 eggs, hard-boiled and quartered
- 50g mature Cheddar, grated
- Beaten egg, to glaze
Method
1 Preheat oven to 220C/Gas 7. Roll out half the pastry and use to line a 20cm pie plate. Line with greaseproof paper and baking beans. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove paper and beans and bake for another 5. Leave to cool.
2 Grill sausages for 15 minutes. When cool, cut into large chunks. Grill bacon for 5 minutes, then cut into thick strips. Spoon the sausages and bacon into the pastry case. Add the eggs and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
3 Roll out remaining pastry into a circle slightly larger than dish. Brush the edges with the beaten egg, then place over pie. Press the edges together, trim with a knife, then brush pie top with the beaten egg. Make a small hole in centre and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce oven to 180C/Gas 4. Cook for another 15 minutes. Serve cold.
