Ingredients
- 700g Asda Vine Ripened Tomatoes
- 700g Bramley apples, peeled, cored and chopped
- 125g sultanas
- 275ml Asda Cider Vinegar
- 1tsp medium curry powder
- ½tsp ground mixed spice
- ½tsp ground ginger
- ½tsp mustard powder
- 1tsp salt
- 225g demerara sugar
Method
1 Put the tomatoes in a large bowl and pour over enough boiling water to cover. Leave just one minute and then drain. Peel the tomatoes and roughly chop.
2 Put the tomatoes in a pan with the apples, sultanas, vinegar, curry powder, spice, ginger, mustard and salt. Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.
3 Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 to 1½ hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Divide between the sterilised jars . Cover and seal.
4 Leave the chutney in a cool, dark place to mature for a month before using.
