Thai fragrant rice is best type to use as it is slightly sticky, but you can use American long grain rice - just don't rinse it before cooking. These snacks are much better than a bag of crisps, and they're fun to make too.
Ingredients
- Asda Thai fragrant rice
- Asda sliced Danish salami
- Asda sliced baked ham
- Asda sliced Edam
- Cucumber
- Seedless grapes
- 185g can Asda tuna chunks in oil, drained
- 325g can Asda sweetcorn, drained
- Asda mayonnaise
Method
1 Cook the rice according to pack instructions, drain and quickly cool. Put it in a bowl and press it down. Cut slices of salami, ham, cheese and cucumber into small pieces (triangles are good for mking faces). Slice a few grapes in half. Mix the tuna and sweetcorn with a little mayonnaise.
2 Now the children can make the rice shapes. Make sure their hands and the spoon are wet, so the rice won't stick. With the wet spoon, let them scoop up a little rice and mould it with their hands. Slip the rice shapes off the spoon onto a large plate. Then add toppings in crazy face designs or pretty pattens.
