Glazed shallots
Suitable for vegetarians
Ingredients
- Hand full of shallots
- knob of butter
- Splash of olive oil
- Sprinkle on 2tbsp of brown sugar
- 2tbsp of red wine vinegar
Method
1 For a tasty side dish, peel some shallots and trim off the top ends. Heat a knob of butter and a splash of olive oil in a frying pan, add the shallots and cook over a low heat, turning frequently for 15 minutes or until tender.
2 Sprinkle on 2tbsp of brown sugar and 2tbsp of red wine vinegar. Stir, then simmer for a minute, shaking the pan so that the shallots are coated.
