A hearty meal to warm kids up when they’ve been playing outside – just reheat when they’re ready to eat. It’s also perfect for freezing

Ingredients
- 554g diced casserole beef
- 2tbsp plain flour
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2tbsp sunflower oil
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 beef stock cube
- 400g can Asda Chopped Tomatoes
- 2tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 green and 1 red pepper, deseeded and thickly sliced
- 1 baking potato, peeled and diced
- 150g pot soured cream, to serve
Method
1 Preheat the oven to 150C/ 130C Fan/Gas 2. Toss the beef in the flour and set aside. Cook the onion in 1 tablespoon oil over a low heat until soft and golden. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Put in a casserole dish.
2 Add 1 tablespoon oil to the pan and cook the beef in batches until browned. As each batch is done, add it to the dish and put in the oven uncovered.
3 Add 200ml water to the pan with the stock cube and heat, stirring until dissolved. Add the tomatoes and paprika and heat until simmering. Pour over the meat and onion. Cover and cook in the oven for 2½ hours.
4 Add red and green pepper and potato and cook for another 45 minutes. Serve each portion with a dollop of soured cream.
